Penny & the Pits crank the chaos with blistering new single ‘Headcrusher’
Penny & the Pits are back with ‘Headcrusher’, the third and most ferocious single yet from their upcoming LP ‘Liquid Compactor’. Following the jagged bounce of ‘Montenegro On Ice’ and the off-kilter charm of ‘Pool Party’, this track kicks down the door with a snarling riff and zero apologies.
“This one’s about blaming yourself for someone else’s mess—and then deciding to stop,” says Penelope. “Just sending them out to sea, metaphorically speaking.”
Best known from cult art-rock trio Motherhood, Penelope brings a new kind of fury to her solo work, still experimental, but loaded with swagger. Think Yeah Yeah Yeahs meets Amyl & the Sniffers with a healthy dose of surf-punk grit and Sabbathian heft. If ‘Headcrusher’ is any indication, ‘Liquid Compactor’ is shaping up to be one hell of a debut.
