PET NEEDS announce fourth album ‘Elbows Out! This Is Capitalism’
DIY punk-rock heroes PET NEEDS have announced their fourth studio album, Elbows Out! This Is Capitalism, due 27th March 2026 via Xtra Mile Recordings. The Colchester quartet mark the occasion with the release of chaotic and catchy new single ‘Hey You Hey You (Are You Are You OK OK?)’, complete with an inventive one-shot video directed by Vanessa Söllner.
Described by the band as “an anthem for people skydiving with a dodgy second-hand parachute”, the track takes aim at the contradictions of punk authenticity with an infectious chorus and a dose of self-aware satire. With its punchy delivery and snarling charm, it’s already proving a live favourite on tour.
The forthcoming album sees the band reflect on the highs and harsh realities of life in a grassroots punk band, weaving their trademark energy with satire, spoken-word interludes, and even guest appearances from CJ Ramone and others. Vocalist Johnny Marriott describes it as “an act of defiance” in a broken industry.
Produced by George Perks (Enter Shikari, Skindred), the record follows 2024’s Intermittent Fast Living and a string of sold-out shows. A March UK tour of intimate venues will give fans the first live taste of the new material.
