PHWOAR “surge” ahead with disco-punk anthem and third EP single

Birmingham alt-rock duo PHWOAR return with ‘Surge’, the third single from their upcoming EP ‘Flowers Through The Concrete’, out April 11, 2025.

True to its name, ‘Surge’ hits with electrifying intent—pairing a gritty rock guitar riff with a relentless disco-punk drumbeat. Equal parts protest anthem and dancefloor call-to-arms, the track channels raw frustration into power and movement.

Written in response to rising political anxiety and disillusionment, ‘Surge’ calls on listeners to stand up against injustice. “We’re living in unprecedented times—it’s impossible not to feel anxious,” the band says. “This track is about fighting back, together.”
