PØRTERS release energetic new single ‘Timewaster’
Newcastle upon Tyne alt-rock outfit PØRTERS have unveiled their latest single ‘Timewaster’, showcasing the band’s energetic sound and tight vocal interplay.
Fronted by Maria Winter, the five-piece also features Kieran Taylor (guitar/vocals), James Hughes (bass/vocals), Nick Gladdish (keys/vocals), and Tom Furniss (drums). Drawing on experience from previous projects including Midnight Chìc, Tall Shaves, Maria & James, and The Nick Gladdish Band, the group combine their varied backgrounds to create a bold and melodic alternative rock style.
The idea for ‘Timewaster’ came during a rehearsal session when the band began discussing everyday frustrations and the types of things they would banish to “Room 101.” The conversation quickly turned to people who drain time and energy, inspiring the song’s concept and title.
Musically, the track blends thick guitar riffs with the band’s signature layered vocal arrangements. A standout rhythmic section from Furniss and a striking synth passage from Gladdish add further momentum to the song’s dynamic structure.
