Post Death Soundtrack share dark, defiant take on ‘Venus in Furs’
Post Death Soundtrack have unveiled their brooding and confounding new version of ‘Venus in Furs’, reimagining the Velvet Underground’s 1967 dirge as a haunting, industrial-laced descent into obsession and power. The cover appears on their newly released fifth album ‘IN ALL MY NIGHTMARES I AM ALONE’, a record that wrestles openly with personal trauma, madness, and survival.
Where the original leaned into detached cool, Post Death Soundtrack’s version drags the song into murkier territory. Drenched in atmosphere and layered with Stephen Moore’s shadowy vocal delivery, it feels less like a nod to the past and more like a fever dream refracted through modern disillusionment.
“‘Venus in Furs’ has always been subversive,” Moore explains. “We wanted to lean into that darkness and push it further — to make it feel dangerous again.”
