Priced Out showcase their debut EP with the blistering new single ‘Pull The Ladder Up’
After spending the last few months building and cultivating their sound, Canadian newcomers Priced Out have now released their hotly-tipped debut EP ‘Four Songs’, featuring the blistering new single ‘Pull The Ladder Up’.
Taking their cues from IDLES with its bold and ferocious punk aesthetic, ‘Pull The Ladder Up’ makes for a dazzling introduction to their sound so far. With its raw and driven textures layered throughout, they are kicking things off with a wildly enjoyable anthem here.
Adding about the track, they said, “This song was written out of anger and frustration from seeing how easily people tend to punch down and ignore their own entitlement. We are told to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps (which is a poor analogy, because that’s actually impossible), when what we really need is more opportunity. More support. More empathy.
“Instead we get tokenism and entitlement and leaders that close doors instead of opening them. This song is about being really damn angry about that.”
