REVIEW: Bryce Fox – ‘The Butterfly’
Throughout his illustrious tenure, Nashville-based artist Bryce Fox has been this driving force of innovation within the US alt-rock scene. Taking cues from the commercially-angled arena and injecting this bold and blistering production behind everything he does, he has been quick to establish himself as one of the more impactful names doing the rounds right now. And with his earlier EP ‘The Bomb’ continuing that dynamic ascent, he is back once again to deliver his new EP ‘The Butterfly’, a collection that builds upon those immersive foundations once again.
Much like what ‘The Bomb’ offered up, ‘The Butterfly’ delivers another heady dose of riveting anthems, all infused with his passionate swagger at every turn. Probably a bit more mainstream-focused than some of his previous work, this new five-track outing makes for a wonderfully rich and captivating listen throughout. Taking more influence from his time as a father in recent years, Bryce Fox feels far more confident this time around, honing what has already been an extremely assured time on the scene lately.
It may have come after a very busy period within his career, but ‘The Butterfly’ still manages to leave a lasting impression on his ever-evolving catalogue to date. Oozing with this warmth and flair as it plays, Bryce Fox continues that vibrant appeal he has always managed to conjure once again.
