REVIEW: CAN’T STOP TALKING – ‘Live at The George Tavern’

CAN’T STOP TALKING’s ‘Live at The George Tavern’ is a rare glimpse into a band at the height of their live intensity, where every note is infused with immediacy, risk, and connection. Coming off the back of a stellar run of form, this four-track EP immerses us at a sold-out summer night at one of London’s most storied venues.

Opening with ‘Angel In Disguise’, the band immediately establishes a sense of kinetic urgency. Empathic drums drive the performance with measured power, while the guitars alternate between jagged riffs and shimmering, expansive textures. While Hannah, the newest member on bass, adds both harmonic weight and a melodic counterpoint, her backing vocals accentuating the choruses and giving each track an added richness.

Releasing live versions of songs that have yet to receive a studio treatment is a move few would dare. Tracks like ‘Easy Tiger’ and ‘Business As Usual’ capture the raw chemistry of the band, while there’s also a tension between control and chaos that permeates the recording, making each song feel like a delicate balance of precision and abandon.

The EP traverses between swinging rhythms, dynamic guitar work, and vocals that ride both the melody and the crowd’s energy. It’s the electricity that occurs when musicians feed off each other and the audience in one single motion.

‘Live at The George Tavern’ is an invitation to hear CAN’T STOP TALKING in a space where music is immediate, communal, and unrestrained. It’s a testament to the band’s commitment to capturing the intensity of the stage, and a reminder of what live music can truly feel like.
