REVIEW: Gamma Rage – ‘Gamma Rage’

When they first broke through with their impactful debut single ‘Scorcher’ in 2021, emerging outfit Gamma Rage established themselves as one of the more exciting names on the rise. Taking a breather in 2022 before returning with their vibrant comeback single ‘Gloom’ last year, the band have been quick to mark themselves as true innovators on the rise right now. And with the buzz around them continuing to build, they are now cementing their legacy to date with the release of their eagerly-awaited self-titled debut album, a record that offers up more of that cacophonous spirit they have been cultivating over the years.

Born out of five years of hard graft and multiple line-up changes, ‘Gamma Rage’ certainly looks to make a strong impression right from the off. Channelling that lively alt-rock energy their earlier material alluded to, this new collection finds them in a brilliantly raw and driven guise as they look to make light work of these blistering new anthems. Wearing their influences very much on their sleeves throughout this new offering, Gamma Rage are continuing that vibrant initial flair with style and aplomb as often as possible.

While many names look to create this grizzled aesthetic within their recordings, there is something about ‘Gamma Rage’ that feels so much more organic and original than most. Unleashing one rapturous belter after another, this new full-length is certainly one to play extremely loud!
