REVIEW: Grey Filters – ‘Man And His Programmer’
After originally making their mark on the scene with their breakthrough debut single ‘Diabolic’ in May, Floridian newcomers Grey Filters have managed to tap into a bold and distinctive direction in which to call their own. Taking cues from the psych-rock sound and blending it with a metal-inspired aesthetic has given them this broad and immersive aesthetic that is already beginning to make waves. And with the buzz around them continuing to grow, they look to cement their legacy to date with the release of their eagerly-anticipated debut EP ‘Man And His Programmer’, a collection brimming with passion and vigour throughout.
While ‘Diabolic’ certainly gave us a raw insight into what they were working on, ‘Man And His Programmer’ sees them unleash some truly anthemic gems here. With this raw and grizzled groove running across each of the four tracks, they have made light work of this new offering, filling it with as much power and thunderous energy as they can.
While their journey may have only just begun, ‘Man And His Programmer’ certainly sets an exciting stage for what they will be producing in the months to come as well. Delivering some truly mesmerising delights here, Grey Filters stand as one of the more exciting names breaking out right now.
