REVIEW: Helladdict – ‘Helladdict’

Over these last few months, Chilean newcomers Helladdict have been busy crafting a bold and distinctive direction in which to call their own. Taking their cues from the core fundamentals of the metal sound and injecting this industrial intensity to its pace, the band have quickly carved out an impactful niche that pays homage to the origins of their chosen genre, while also offering something new in the process. And with the buzz around them beginning to build, they now look to cement their dynamic legacy to date with the release of their self-titled debut EP, a collection that is as frantic as it is captivating.

Right from the very start, ‘Helladdict’ looks to pack an almighty punch. Opening up with the cacophonous anthem ‘Sombras’, this three-track collection quickly finds its feet amongst the harder and more brutal side of the metal genre. Coupling these thunderous guitar riffs with an uncompromising sense of rhythm, this band are certainly looking to make a long and lasting impression with this ferocious beast of a debut.

It may still be very early days for them right now, but Helladdict already have a strong and commanding grasp over their direction, something we are sure they will be holding onto for many new releases to come.
