REVIEW: Lovestruck – ‘We Are The Boys’
Over these last few years, Danish outfit Lovestruck have introduced themselves as revivalists of the classic rock genre. Breaking through with their much-loved debut EP ‘Faster, Louder, Lover’ last year, the band have been quick to establish their reputation for big riffs and an unbridled energy towards everything they do. And after continuing that run throughout 2024 with a blistering flurry of releases, they are back once again with their eagerly-awaited debut album ‘We Are The Boys’, a record that delivers more of that anthemic spirit they have been garnering lately.
Much like what their initial material showcased, ‘We Are The Boys’ looks to burst out of the gates with this fiery gusto from start to finish. Building upon the dynamic foundations and progressive momentum they have been cultivating, this new nine-track collection finds them in a brilliantly adventurous guise as every turn. Taking cues from the classic rock aesthetic, rebranded for a modern ear, Lovestruck continue to shine as one of the more infectious names on the rise with this one.
While they have certainly left a lasting impression on the scene recently, ‘We Are The Boys’ feels like a strong and confident step forward within their musical evolution to date. Brimming with killer hooks and some brilliantly inviting textures throughout, they are certainly ones to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
