REVIEW: ProjeKT – ‘All in a Look’

Despite only emerging last year with their breakthrough debut LP ‘Somewhere Far Away’, emerging outfit ProjeKT have already established themselves as one of the more distinctive and innovative names on the rise. Returning earlier this year with their sophomore effort ‘TOXICADA’, the band have sought influences from thrash metal, death metal, classic rock, and early 2000’s elements to craft their vibrant direction. And with their prolific pursuits still very much in its peak, they are back once again with their explosive third studio album ‘All in a Look’, a record that looks to cement itself as their most adventurous yet.

Much like what their recent offerings have produced, ‘All in a Look’ centres itself around a raw and blistering aesthetic that always pursues broad and anthemic textures. Creating this heady blend of heartfelt vocal performances and brilliantly gritty riffs across all eight tracks, they continue to deliver something new and interesting with every cut here. Turning out new material at this electrifying rate is never an easy task, but for ProjeKT it feels as though they have only just scratched the surface with their outlandish potential so far.

Times have certainly been busy for them recently, but that hasn’t taken anything away from the sheer gusto in which they bring to ‘All in a Look’. Brimming with this riveting and uncompromising approach to both sound and aesthetic, ProjeKT continue to ascend as one of the more exciting names on the rise right now.
