REVIEW: The Naked Grace Missionaries – ‘Transmission’
Over these last few months, London’s The Naked Grace Missionaries have been gracing their presence across the capital with a string of bold and vibrant live shows, all looking to broaden their already captivating aesthetic. They have been turning out a breadth of well-received releases in that time as well, offering up a heady dose of politically-aware alt-folk that has quickly established them as one of the more exciting names doing the rounds right now. And with their tenure continuing to push the boundaries of their aesthetic, they return with their latest EP ‘Transmission’, a collection that highlights some of their most compelling songwriting to date.
Marked as the final four additions from their eagerly-awaited debut album ‘The Ceremony Of Keys’, which is also available to stream now, ‘Transmission’ finds them in renewed spirits once again. Using little more than a rustic acoustic guitar and their own soaring vocal performances to create their absorbing sound, the trio have made light work of these invigorating new gems. One part spiritual and the other part progressive, their newest EP aims to build upon their dynamic pursuit of late and still deliver something fresh and interesting for their ever-growing fanbase as well.
These last few months have certainly been extremely busy and prolific for them, but ‘Transmission’ sees out these initial era within their career with flair and finesse throughout. Delivering some superbly admirable odes throughout this new EP, they continue to rise as one of the more fascinating names doing the rounds right now.
