Roses In December confront toxic masculinity with ‘The Day That He Saw Red’

Having already made their mark as Crux across the UK’s North Eastern music scene over the last decade, Newcastle’s Roses In December are now looking to herald in a new beginning as they return to the fold with their explosive new single ‘The Day That He Saw Red’.

What was always extremely exciting about their previous incarnation was their ability to bring plenty of bite and tenacity to their sound, and this is exactly what ‘The Day That He Saw Red’ is all about. Recruiting Sam Grant from fellow Geordie rockers Pigs x7 to record their latest outing, their newest endeavour sees them emerge back into the fold with one of their most unbridled releases to date.

Creating this incredibly fun and lively alt-rock aesthetic that builds and builds before finally erupting into a frenzy of raucous guitar hooks, they are not only returning with a true anthem but one that many of their adoring fans will want to come back to again and again.

While turning your back on an old moniker can be a difficult thing to do, Roses In December feel just as fresh and innovative as they always did. Taking the subjects of corporate greed and toxic masculinity, and blending them into such an impactful, groove-laden offering, ‘The Day That He Saw Red’ sees them returning with an almighty bang here.
