Secret Others revive early 2000s emo with new single ‘You Ain’t No Daisy’

Hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii, alternative/emo rock duo Secret Others—featuring Daniel Oswald and Stephen Erhardt—are making waves with their fresh yet nostalgic take on the genre. Inspired by the resurgence of early 2000s emo and punk, the band channels the raw intensity of The Used, Taking Back Sunday, and Sum 41, blending melodic hooks, heartfelt lyrics, and driving guitars to create something both familiar and new.

Their latest single ‘You Ain’t No Daisy’ is a love letter to the era that shaped them. Equal parts anthemic and introspective, the song pays homage to the soundtracks of a generation while injecting a fresh perspective and contemporary production.

“This song captures the nostalgic energy while adding our own modern twist,” the band shares. “It’s everything we love about the genre—raw emotion, driving melodies, and a chorus that stays with you long after the song ends.”
