Self Torque share spaghetti-western inspired single ‘Del Shannon’

Brighton indie-punk trio Self Torque have just dropped their latest single ‘Del Shannon’, a shape-shifting track that veers between chaotic riffs and cinematic flair. Out now via Sugar-Free Records, the song gives fans a first taste of what to expect from the band’s upcoming debut album A Brutal Nadir, set for release on January 30, 2026.

Recorded at Brighton Electric with producer Mark Roberts (Black Peaks, Jamie Lenman) and engineer Alex Gordon (The Cure, Tigercub), ‘Del Shannon’ captures the band’s genre-bending approach at full tilt. The track leans into spaghetti-western territory, complete with soaring trumpet lines and thunderous dynamic shifts.

With lyrics that cut deep and arrangements that keep listeners on their toes, Self Torque are fast establishing themselves as one of Brighton’s most compelling new bands. Keep an eye out for A Brutal Nadir early next year.
