SHAPES introduce themselves with brooding, dancefloor-ready debut ‘Minos’
Emerging with a sound that fuses shadowy introspection with infectious rhythm, new outfit SHAPES arrive fully formed with debut single ‘Minos’, a track that not only opens their upcoming self-titled record, but also sparked the band into being.
“It was the first song written for the project,” says guitarist Alex “Speechless” Savard. “I wanted something a little dark, a little danceable — not afraid to flirt with pop, but still grounded in grit. It became the sonic blueprint.”
That balance between mood and movement defines SHAPES’ identity. Vocalist Trevor Bushey taps into a philosophical undercurrent, describing ‘Minos’ as a reflection on futility, identity, and the search for meaning. “The fruit never flowers,” he says. “It’s about confronting the quiet anguish of being human.”
