Sluttony return with new single ‘Hazel’
LA-via-Santa Cruz all-femme indie rock outfit Sluttony channel the emotional chaos of your twenties into their powerful new single ‘Hazel’. Anchored by slow-burning guitars and a dynamic vocal build that crashes into layered fury, the track introduces a titular character who personifies the contradictions placed on young women; power and regret, beauty and shame, freedom and pressure.
Built on a foundation of grunge nostalgia and lyrical honesty, ‘Hazel’ marks a standout moment from the band’s upcoming debut LP. “She’s the push and pull of becoming,” the band says. “Hazel isn’t just a person — she’s every expectation we’ve been told to live up to, and every version of ourselves we’ve had to shed.”
Known for turning every venue into a communal catharsis, Sluttony have made noise from The Smell to Shabang Festival. Fans of Wolf Alice, Ethel Cain, and Mannequin Pussy, don’t sleep on this.
