Smacked Youth embrace the chaos of life on the road with ‘White Line Fever’
Newcastle punk outfit Smacked Youth are back with a no-holds-barred new single ‘White Line Fever’, a gritty, tongue-in-cheek anthem born straight from the touring trenches. Fronted by Sam D’Agostino, the project has built a reputation for loud riffs, raw honesty, and a knack for finding humour in the madness of band life.
The track was inspired during their support slot for Aussie rock legends The Screaming Jets. “We’d been on the road for a few weeks, just staring at the highway for hours on end,” D’Agostino recalls. “I told the crowd we’d developed a bit of ‘White Line Fever’—y’know, road madness. They laughed, and I didn’t realise why until someone told me after the set that they thought I was talking about a different kind of white line fever… if you catch my drift.”
