Sofia Härdig unveils haunting new single ‘In Silence’ ahead of upcoming album ‘Lighthouse of Glass’

As the countdown continues to the release of her ninth studio album ‘Lighthouse of Glass’, Sofia Härdig shares her final preview of the record with ‘In Silence’, out now via Bark At Your Owner (part of the Icons Creating Evil Art family).

Opening with delicate acoustic guitar before gradually building into a powerful sonic force, ‘In Silence’ highlights Härdig’s commanding, raw vocal delivery, reminiscent of Patti Smith and Nick Cave. The song, initially tucked away in her archives, took on new life through layered instrumentation, culminating in a chance encounter with violinist Sara Edin after a gig. “Sara saw one of my gigs and came up and said if you need violin just call me. I love her tone and playing. It’s bold and beautiful just as her,” Härdig recalls. Edin’s haunting violin melodies add a new depth to the track, weaving through its brooding arrangement.

Härdig describes ‘In Silence’ as an exploration of the space between sound and stillness, calling silence “the breaking point of reality where anything can happen.” For her, silence is not absence—it is a presence, a force, a transformative state: “The silence I am breaking apart… where the words sleep. And in that silence, we rise.”
