Strange Pink introduce their chaotic charm with debut single ‘Pencil Chewer’

Hull-based alt-rock newcomers Strange Pink crash onto the scene with their explosive debut single ‘Pencil Chewer’, via Forever Underdogs. Featuring Sam Forrest (Nine Black Alps), Edward Alan Logie, and Dom Smith, the trio fuse 90s grunge grit with lo-fi post-punk sneer and heavy shoegaze textures, nodding to the dissonance of Sonic Youth and the raw urgency of early alt rock.

Mixed by Nick “The Muscle” Russell (Bedsit, ROTHCO) and mastered by Ed Woods (The Who, Manic Street Preachers), ‘Pencil Chewer’ is gritty, gnarly, and unafraid to get loud.

Commenting on the track, Forrest deadpans: “We wrote Pencil Chewer while bathing in the blood of fascists and it’s dedicated to the memory of St Agatha of Sicily.” Whether you take that literally or not, it’s clear Strange Pink are here to shake things up.
