Strange Plants return with driving new single ‘Ground Falls Away’

Strange Plants have released their latest single ‘Ground Falls Away’, an energetic rock track that continues their run of new material following February’s ‘Lay Your Mind’.

Built on pulsing rhythms and warm, analog textures, the song captures a sense of constant motion, reflecting the pressure of pushing forward without pause. The track was inspired by a conversation about the struggle to stay afloat amid everyday demands, channeling that tension into a hopeful, forward-driving sound.

Originally sparked by a guitar riff from Travis Flint, ‘Ground Falls Away’ took shape over time after being revisited and reworked by the band. Its distinctive groove creates a push-and-pull feel that drives the song toward an expansive, instrumental-led second half.

The band once again teamed up with producer Robbie Crowell, known for his work with Deer Tick and Sturgill Simpson, to bring the track to life. The result blends vintage-inspired synths and classic production touches with a modern rock edge.
