The Bateleurs light the fuse again on new single ‘For All To See’

Lisbon’s own The Bateleurs have emerged from a transformative chapter with a bold new offering ‘For All To See’- a vibrant snapshot of life on the move, anchored in camaraderie, sweat, and sound. Serving as a preview to their forthcoming full-length ‘A Light In The Darkness’, this track marks a turning of the page for the band.

Following a significant lineup reshuffle, the group sounds tighter and more energised than ever. The addition of guitarist Ricardo Galrão adds a fresh layer of nuance, and if this first single is any indication, the new chemistry is electric. Built on a solid foundation of rootsy grooves and vintage soul, ‘For All To See’ leans hard into the golden glow of Americana-tinted blues rock- think Allman Brothers meets The Temperance Movement, with a distinctly Iberian flavour.

Guest turns by Tiago Maia on slide and Nuno Louro on the Hammond B3 bring an extra dose of grit and sunshine, enriching the arrangement with a Southern-fried warmth that perfectly underscores the track’s theme- chasing dreams and living out loud, gig after gig, town after town.

The lyric video, bathed in amber studio light, captures the group in their element, plugged in and locked tight. There’s an ease to their interplay, a sense of unity that comes from years of late nights, long drives, and the shared pursuit of something ineffable. It’s that unspoken bond between musicians that powers this track, and it’s impossible to miss.

‘For All To See’ is a love letter to the grind and the glory of the stage, a reminder of why bands like The Bateleurs keep pushing forward. Hook-laden and heartfelt, it’s a triumphant step forward from a band clearly hitting their stride.
