The Overjoyed return with raw and relentless single ‘Joy Vampire’
Athens-based punk band The Overjoyed are back with a vengeance on new single ‘Joy Vampire’, a snarling shot of defiance aimed at toxic egos and energy-draining collaborators. The track blends Bay Area punk urgency with anthemic hooks and biting irony, staying true to the band’s vibrant yet caustic ethos.
Written after a fallout with a former collaborator, ‘Joy Vampire’ channels frustration into gritty catharsis. Produced at their own Buduzi Studios, the track features a standout bassline, raw vocals, and a climactic piano hit inspired by The Stooges. Mastered at Abbey Road Studios, it bridges underground grit with hi-fi intensity.
Following their explosive track ‘Don’t Listen!’, this new single hints at a bolder, more collaborative direction for their upcoming self-titled album.
