The Planet Smashers announce new album ‘On the Dancefloor’, share infectious single ‘Meet Me On The Dancefloor’
Canadian ska-punk legends The Planet Smashers are making a triumphant return with the announcement of their highly anticipated tenth studio album, ‘On the Dancefloor’, set to drop August 22 via Stomp Records. To kick things off, the band has unleashed the vibrant lead single ‘Meet Me On The Dancefloor’.
‘On the Dancefloor’ marks a joyous return to form, mixing love, rebellion, and resilience into 13 brass-laced anthems built for dance floors and sweaty mosh pits alike. The album features guest appearances from ska icons Neville Staple (The Specials), Charley “Aitch” Bembridge (The Selecter), and Sara Johnston (Bran Van 3000), adding extra pedigree to an already powerhouse record.
‘Meet Me On The Dancefloor’ is classic Planet Smashers: cheeky, groove-driven, and impossible to sit still through, an open invitation to lose yourself in the music. “On the Dancefloor was the funnest of our 10 albums to record,” says frontman Matt Collyer. “I can’t wait to play these songs live! The process was rad from start to finish. All of my bandmates got their hands in there. Plus we had the pleasure of teaming up with ska legends and longtime friends. Fun times!”
