The Planet Smashers drop final single ‘Things You Do’ ahead of new album ‘On the Dancefloor’
Ska-punk heavyweights The Planet Smashers are back with ‘Things You Do’, the final single before the release of their long-awaited new album ‘On the Dancefloor’, landing August 22nd via Stomp Records.
Formed in 1994, the Montreal crew has spent three decades building their ska empire, earning over 30 million Spotify streams and a cult following that spans continents. Their latest offering is a classic Smashers blend of punchy horns, sharp wit, and emotional grit, a breakup track that simmers with frustration before boiling over into release.
“‘Things You Do’ just clicked,” the band shares. “From the creepy horn lines to the raw, no-click recording, it’s a cathartic, self-loathing track that hits hard and then lets go. It’s also the first time we’ve ever modulated a chorus.”
