The Temper Trap is an Australian indie rock band formed in 2005 by Dougy Mandagi, Jonathon Aherne, and Toby Dundas. In 2008, the group relocated from Melbourne to London. The band released their debut album Conditions in June 2009 to favorable reviews and commercial success; it peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and into the top 30 on the UK Albums Chart. Its lead single, “Sweet Disposition”, peaked in the top 10 on the Belgian, Irish, and UK Singles Charts and reached No. 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 in November, The Temper Trap won Best Group and Most Popular Australian Single for “Sweet Disposition”. Their eponymous second album was released in late May/early June 2012 under Liberation Music (AUS), Infectious Records (UK), and Glassnote Records (US). The album won the band Best Rock Album, and they also won Best Group at the 2012 ARIA Awards. In October 2013 guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto left the band, during the recording of the third album. 10. London’s Burning (The Temper Trap, 2012)
“I’m just addicted to this song now !! I listen to it so much time per day ! The atmosphere is just awesome! I love this song I play it over and over.”
9. Rabbit Hole (The Temper Trap, 2012)
“The lyrics convey a rather disturbing, bleak world view – albeit, probably an accurate one – describing the lengths some people/groups will go to achieve and maintain their positions of power. But in my opinion it also conveys a sense of the narrator’s strength, in that he refuses to be silenced and will not take this oppression and ill-treatment lying down, but will speak out against corruption – even if it means giving his life in the process.”
8. Leaving Heartbreak Hotel (The Temper Trap, 2012)
“Love it. The music is even better because of the lyrics. Thank you for your artistic edge. Possibly the biggest surprise though is the closing ‘Leaving Heartbreak Hotel’. Despite the questionable title, this is yet another pretty and sincere ballad and works perfectly as the album closer.”
7. Drum Song (Conditions, 2009)
“The closing ‘Drum Song’ which I can only assume was an attempt to demonstrate that the band were a bit edgy and progressive by building a catchy track on irregular drum rhythms and they weren’t just another indie pop/rock band.”

6. Science of Fear (Conditions, 2009)
“Some of the songs on here are far from the limp indie songs that detractors paint them to be, like “Science of Fear” where the guitars are genuinely quite aggressive.”
5. Need Your Love (The Temper Trap, 2012)
“Best song by far, better than the songs from conditions and the whole band are great in this song! Can’t stop listening!”
4. Fader (Conditions, 2009)
“Whats to say about this one, think these guys must have seen Cut your hair by Pavement video alot and they decided to run with, but considering that I really like that song I dont care in the least. The hook is clearly styled after that song but it does not rip it off or anything, the rest of the song fits between indie rock and alternative rock, the only difference is it is better then most alternative rock out there, infact this is the type of “real rock they should be playing” seriously in the 70’s Billy Joel was not a hard rock artist, and now they play Nickelback fiasco’s.”

3. Soldier On (Conditions, 2009)
“A great song that characterizes the emotion felt by military personnel during long periods of time away from those they love. Powerful lyrics”
2. Love Lost (Conditions, 2009)
“One of the most sublime songs I heard.. one that can touch your heart, giving you mixed emotions, depending how you can relate to it.. it’s inspiring yet there’s a hint of a sad story behind the uplifting music.. or maybe it’s just me.. I love the beat, the voice, the whole song!”
1. Sweet Disposition (Conditions, 2009)
“Love this song so much, makes me feel amazing every time I listen to it, just so good! Perfectly dramatic and about those moments that change everything”
