The Vaniers drop bold new single ‘Pigeons’
Toronto-based rock trio The Vaniers have returned with ‘Pigeons’, a daring new indie tune that delves into the intricate psyche of a guilty mind. With tongue-in-cheek lyrics and unconventional storytelling, the track takes listeners to an uneasy yet captivating space, exploring love’s darker side through an upbeat groove, airy arpeggios, and lush harmonies.
Formed in 2016 by high school classmates Diego Paz (bass/vocals), Alex Iacobellis (guitar), and Nick Donato (drums), The Vaniers have drawn inspiration from indie-alternative icons like Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, and Kings of Leon. Known for their high-octane performances, the band has become a staple of Toronto’s underground music scene, playing everything from basement house parties to iconic venues like The Horseshoe Tavern and Lee’s Palace.
‘Pigeons’ continues the momentum of their dynamic career, which includes their breakout 2019 year with multiple single releases and a headline performance at Toronto’s Taste of the Danforth festival. Their debut EP ‘Who Are You To Say?’ arrived in 2020, followed by the release of their full-length album ‘All Together Now!’ in 2022, featuring standout singles like ‘No Promises’ and ‘Dance To Forget’.
