Via share ‘1000 MPH’ from long-lost 1987 EP
Via, the long-lost Boston/New York no-wave supergroup featuring Thalia Zedek (Come, Live Skull), Jerry di Rienzo (Cell), James Apt, Adam Gaynor, and Phil Milstein, return from the underground with their blistering single ‘1000 MPH’, the first taste of their unearthed 1987 recordings, out November 14 via Dromedary Records.
Originally recorded to 8-track in a Somerville basement, ‘1000 MPH’ captures the band at their most visceral, a raw collision of serrated guitars, seething rhythms, and magnetic disorientation.
“This may have been the first song we ever wrote,” says Zedek. “It came from that feeling of thinking you’re moving, only to realise it’s everything else that’s shifting around you.”
