Wanda Honey explore loss and despair in new single ‘Cloudland’
Since their formation in late 2015, Wanda Honey have sought to reimagine alternative rock by fusing searing, captivating melodies with themes of raw emotion and violent subject matter. With no lyrical or sonic boundary off-limits, the band draws inspiration from events and stories unbound by time, place, or nature.
Their latest single ‘Cloudland’ delves into the harrowing journey of a man grappling with profound loss. The track paints a vivid portrait of his despair as he pleads for release from the pain inflicted by the cruel absence of the woman he loved. It’s a deeply emotional piece that encapsulates the band’s ethos of exploring melancholic yet impactful narratives.
Drawing on influences from acts like Metz and Title Fight, Wanda Honey’s music channels a visceral energy. Their first release, a double A-side featuring ‘Final Dive’ and ‘Undercurrent’, introduced their intense, emotionally charged style, characterised by themes of trauma and resilience.
