WHITEHORSE unveil new single ‘Doesn’t Come Close’

WHITEHORSE, the newly formed band led by Thomas Haywood (formerly of The Blinders), have released their electrifying debut single ‘Doesn’t Come Close’. Formed in Sheffield in late 2024, the band also features Bobby Glaister (Slumdogs), John McCullagh & Nathan Keeble (John Lennon McCullagh, Vultures, Children of the State), and James Keith (Malcom). Drawing from their collective experience, Whitehorse have hit the ground running, offering a powerful fusion of raw emotion, urgent instrumentation, and gripping storytelling.

‘Doesn’t Come Close’ immediately introduces WHITEHORSE’s signature sound—a visceral, emotionally charged piece that lingers long after the final note. Lyrically introspective and instrumentally electrifying, it encapsulates the push-and-pull of personal struggle, self-discovery, and the complexity of human relationships.

Speaking about the track, Haywood explains:

“From the first chord, I wanted it to feel like something was slipping through your fingers. It’s about thinking you can help someone with their shit, but somewhere in that process, you lose yourself and the handle on your own.”

“You know, like when you think you’re helping someone, but in reality, you’re nowhere near. I talk to myself a lot in songs. This one says trust in your own path and what that demands of you.”
