Wounded Lovers channel city shadows and ska-punk swagger on ‘Club Bongo International’
London trio Wounded Lovers have shared their latest single ‘Club Bongo International’, a gritty ska-punk cut taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘West End Intoxica’. With sharp rhythm work from bassist Rick Jassi and drummer Paul Miles, the track bristles with streetwise energy as frontman Iain Fenwick delivers vivid tales of London nightlife gone awry; late-night buses, fashion-fuelled scraps, and the strange romance of city chaos.
The album as a whole dives into themes of urban disillusionment, youthful recklessness, and the ever-persistent pull of the metropolis. Fenwick, a seasoned figure of the capital’s live circuit since the ’90s, draws from his own experiences to build an unflinching portrait of London in all its beauty and brutality.
‘West End Intoxica’ is set to be a raw, personal love letter to a city that can just as easily elevate as it can consume. And with ‘Club Bongo International’, Wounded Lovers invite listeners into the thick of it, dancing on the edge of danger, fashion, and fractured dreams.
