Wounded Lovers return with electrifying new single ‘Blink of an Eye’ ahead of debut album

London indie-rock outfit Wounded Lovers are back with their blistering new single ‘Blink of an Eye’, out now via Loose Rooster Records. Following on from their attention-grabbing debut ‘A Bar Called Paradise’, which earned early praise from The Vinyl District, American Pancake, and Fortitude Magazine, the band takes a rawer, punk-fuelled turn with this latest release.

Leaning into their DIY roots, ‘Blink of an Eye’ channels the reckless heart of The Replacements and the swagger of early Rolling Stones, pairing mournful lyrics with ragged, bluesy riffs and explosive percussion. There’s a push and pull between melancholy and menace, sleazy guitar lines twist beneath urgent sax blasts from Andy Bones, while frontman Rick Jassi and drummer Paul Miles hold the groove with undeniable intensity. Contributions from Eddie Philips on lead guitar and Lucca Mae on backing vocals add texture to an already layered performance.

The track is a defiant anthem for the bruised and broken-hearted, built for late-night confessionals and sticky-floor dive bars. It also signals the start of a packed summer for the four-piece, with a third single landing in late July, their debut album West End Intoxica arriving 25th July, and a live appearance at High Tide Festival on 27th July.
