Alter Bridge Albums Ranked

Alter Bridge is an American rock band from Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2004 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips. After their former band Creed became inactive in 2003, Tremonti and Phillips formed a new band with former bandmate Marshall and new member Kennedy; Alter Bridge was formally unveiled in January 2004, months before Creed’s official breakup in June. Following continued activities with the members’ other bands and side projects, Alter Bridge released AB III in October 2010, which achieved critical acclaim and commercial success on Roadrunner Records, with the album’s lead single “Isolation” topping the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Alter Bridge released Fortress to further acclaim in September 2013, as the band’s members continued splitting their time between various projects. The Last Hero followed on Napalm Records in October 2016, becoming the band’s first album since its debut to reach the top ten of the Billboard 200, and it’s first to reach the top five of the UK Albums Chart. Alter Bridge’s sixth studio album, Walk the Sky, was released in October 2019. Here are all of Alter Bridge albums ranked.

9. Live At The O2 Arena + Rarities (2017)

“Alter Bridge is my favorite band! I see them every time they come close to where I live. Their live sound is very good, great selection of their songs for a live album. The rarities are a must for true fans. The best Modern Rock Band in the USA hands down!! Great sound and production on this set you won’t be disappointed!!”

8. Live At Wembley (2012)

“The sound quality, playing and even the CROWD are in great form here. It really solidifies how tight and exceptional this band is. the Guitar playing by Tremonti is EXCELLENT! And some of the camera angles show just how easily he commands the Guitar. Such an under rated and an emotional player, he owns these songs. From the light finger picking to the smoking solo’s. Without a doubt, one of the premier guitarists out there.”

7. Live From Amsterdam (2009)

“I love that little intro that plays before the band starts playing. The band nails every single note, and all vocals are well on-pitch. Myles and Mark rock that dual guitar part, and Mark of course kills the solo. No idea how Mark plays it perfectly at such high speed. Although Myles does cut off and/or “speak” many of the notes, he confidently hits those high notes he actually does attempt. Lots of energy. Damn this song is a good opener.”

6. The Last Hero (2016)

“What a great album. I am slightly familiar with Myles Kennedy from his work with Slash. His voice is amazing, and these songs are tailored for his style. The production on this album is incredible. The tones and frequencies are boosted in the right places and the definition is clear. The songs are heartfelt, groovy, and catchy as heck; especially so after a few listens. I wish their earlier stuff was this good; it sounds way too much like Creed for my taste.”

5. Walk The Sky (2019)

“Walk the Sky has quite a bit of variety and some very interesting and different sounding songs. It’s unmistakably Alter Bridge, but more unique and melodic than their other albums. There isn’t a weak song on the album and I haven’t found a favorite yet because the songs are all so good.”

4. Fortress (2013)

“This album is filled with sophisticated melodic and rhythmic complexity (“The Uninvited”, “Bleed it Dry”, “Lover”), drop-D metallic pummeling (“Addicted to Pain”, “Fortress”, “Farther Than the Sun”), intense galloping rhythms (“Cry of Achilles”, “Peace is Broken”, “Waters Rising”) with surprisingly radio-friendly hooks (“Calm the Fire”, “Cry Me a River”, and the ballad “All Ends Well”).”

3. AB III (2010)

“ABIII is a masterpiece of material. Mark Tremonti is one of the better rock guitarists of our generation. Mark can bring the heat with power chords and plays very beautiful melodies. Myles Kennedy has an Ethereal, Haunting voice. I’m not sure of his octaves but his vocal range fits the music perfectly. The first track “Slip to the Void”, take a listen to that , you will recognize my definition of “haunting” vocals. Of course the bass and drums hold up very well, Alter Bridge are one of my favorite bands in the Post-Grunge era.”

2. One Day Remains (2004)

“The “One Day Remains” recordings remain my favorite of all their music to this day. Their most recent, “The Last Hero” is a close second, but nothing they have done has been able to surpass “One Day Remains” for me. Even if you don’t like heavy rock, the sheer talent and heart contained in this music is worth appreciating. Great, heavy rock n roll.”

1. Blackbird (2007)

“Miles takes us on an emotional journey in the song “Blackbird” (an intense song about death and loss) and keeps the heart pining for more in “Watch Over You” (another epic ballad about love and loss). If you’re not into the ole’ heart string pullers, then crank up the volume for “White Knuckles” and “Come to Life”; both are sure to deliver. If your longing for some Creed then their first single “Rise Today” is sure to bring back fond memories for Creed fans. Don’t worry, though, if you’re in the “I despise Creed” corner this is the only song on the album that will create such nostalgia. The rest is ALL Alter Bridge.”
