Audioslave Albums Ranked
Audioslave was an American rock supergroup formed in Glendale, California in 2001. The four-piece band consisted of Soundgarden’s lead singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell with Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass/backing vocals), and Brad Wilk (drums). Critics first described Audioslave as a combination of Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine, but by the band’s second album, Out of Exile, it was noted that they had established a separate identity. Their unique sound was created by blending 1970s hard rock and 1990s alternative rock, with musical influences that included 1960s funk, soul and R&B. Here are all of Audioslave’s albums ranked.

3. Out of Exile (2005)
“I’ll be honest, this album isn’t my favorite Audioslave album. But it does have some very good songs on it and a beautiful album cover just like the rest of their discography. Compared to Audioslave (the album) and Revelations, this album is much lighter overall with a few heavy songs on it. If anyone is also interested in buying the Audioslave albums, Audioslave, Out of Exile, and Revelations are the only albums they came out with before Chris Cornell’s death.”

2. Audioslave (2002)
“This is a terrific album. Chris Cornell has got one of the best voices in rock today, Tom Morello on guitar is full of energy and creative but classic riffs, and Wilk and Commerford on drums and bass make sure you will be banging your head long after your neck muscles have given out. There are times when Cornell’s voice sounds like an instrument, and the synergy of these four guys is heavy and gorgeous. I’d say this strong vocal-guitar duo with blues-based rock and strong beats is quite reminiscent of the classic Led Zeppelin dynamic. Production gives the group a full sound with a garage echo. Cover art is by Storm Thorgerson, who has done work for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.”
1. Revelations (2006)
“This is an incredible third offering from a legendary band. I feel that all three are five star efforts with an edge given to the first one which stands neck and neck with the best Soundgarden ever recorded. I like the soul influence on this one while still crushingly heavy. I am not sure I really understand how you could like the first or second one and not like this? This starts off strong as hell and doesn’t let up. HIGHLY recommended!”
