4. Renegades (2000)

“RATM is always going to be explosive if not outright preachy at times. The songs they selected in this album are form “Renegades” in their own time. All in all it is a solid album. My only beef is that nowhere on the album does it say who does the original versions..that would help people into these songs to be exposed to other great artists. I read a review where they loved this CD because it didn’t have Zack’s preachy lyrics…I can NOT agree with that statement but this cd is alot of fun..which you can’t say about any of the other RATM cd’s. Good stuff!”

3. The Battle of Los Angeles (1999)

“If you like Rage you will LOVE this. The high quality here just keeps getting better. Hook after hook, cool guitar effect after effect, Zach de la Rocha’s usual on-point lyrics and the rhythm section of Brad Wilk on drums and Tim Cutherford on bass is possibly better than Led Zeppelin’s. They are that good.”

Just a shame they split up after this came out.

2. Evil Empire (1996)

“Of the entire Rage catalog, nothing comes off as hard, as heavy, as poignant as Evil Empire. Probably they’re most recognizable album, Evil Empire is filled with hard hitting power. The first three songs (the trilogy of rock – People of the Sun, to Bulls on Parade, to Vietnow) define the pace of the entire album. Down Rodeo has, for me, some of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard in a song. I still get goosebumps all these years later. “These people ain’t seen a brown skinned man since their grandparents bought one.”

1. Rage Against the Machine (1992)

“Some of the best, most creative sounds, & voices in today’s music! So freaking ecstatic that they reformed this group! One of the last of great 90s bands, still producing music today!

This is one of their finest albums, they ever made, killer tracks, soul touching lyrics, & one of the finest guitarist alive! Great rock, & roll artist today, if you love hard core music, this is it, but if you don’t enjoy harsh or cursive words, move away, & keep on looking else where?”
