Blown Away Songs Ranked
“Blown Away” is a song by American recording artist Carrie Underwood, taken from her fourth studio album of the same name (2012). The song served as the album’s second single on July 9, 2012 through Arista Nashville. Written by Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear, who previously wrote Underwood’s single “Before He Cheats” (2007), “Blown Away” is a country pop song with lyrics addressing the story of a daughter locking herself in a storm cellar while her alcoholic father is passed out on the couch in the path of a tornado. Producer Mark Bright drew inspiration from 1980s music. The accompanying music video was directed by Randee St. Nicholas. Underwood said that when she heard first the song, she already had ideas of a possible video for it. She wanted it to be a dark Wizard of Oz in 2012. It earned her an award for Video of the Year at the 2013 CMT Music Awards. The video was nominated for Music Video of the Year at the 2013 Country Music Association Awards. Underwood has performed “Blown Away” in a number of live appearances, including at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, and two years in a row at the Country Music Association Awards. It was also performed as the encore of the Blown Away Tour (2012–13). Here are all of Blown Away songs ranked.

14. Thank God for Hometowns
“This is another slow/mid tempo ballad that for me sticks out the least. This is the song I was least impressed with. It’s not bad, but its not great. It just feels very bland. The song breathes more of a down vibe when the lyrics are speaking about thankfulness and happiness that your hometown is always there for you.”
13. Do You Think About Me
“This is the start of feel good songs. The lyrics and cute and catchy and Underwood’s vocals and soothing and relaxed. No showing off here, just some good music. This song also starts to incorporate more of a country vibe which is good for Carrie’s hardcore country fans. This isn’t a stand out track but regardless it is a solid piece of work.”
12. One Way Ticket
“Me and this song have already developed a love hate relationship lol. When I first heard this I thought it was the least thought about song, way too different than Carrie’s style, and just simply corny. However, then I’ll listen to it and all of a sudden find myself singing it. This song has such simplicity but such a great essence of fun, relaxation, and freedom. I can definitely feel this being a summer hit for Mrs. Underwood. The lyrics are especially relaxed, which makes me like the song even more.”
11. Leave Love Alone
“This song is another solid one for Carrie. Not my favorite, not the best, not the worst, doesn’t make me wanna skip it. It’s just what it is. It’s a good song.”

10. Nobody Ever Told You
“This is my favorite mid tempo song on the album. It has a great positive vibe, great catchy non complicated lyrics, and the beat is infectious. Such a casual fun song that will have anyone tapping their feet. This song also cooperates a great country vibe.”
9. Who are You
“I didn’t start listening to and following Carrie until 2 1/2 years ago, but from what I’ve read and watched, she really got voters due to her strong vocals obviously but also her strong faith. Given the fact that that’s true, with having her first single be “Jesus Take The Wheel”, I feel this will be a big hit with her religious fans. I’m not religious but I have to say this is truly one of the best songs on the album.”
8. Forever Changed
“This song is one of my top 3 songs and possibly a tie with “Two Black Cadillacs” for my favorite song on the album. This is probably the most touching and emotional song on the album. The story line is well thought out. This song has that great relate-ability factor. The soft music with Underwood’s soothing and beautiful perfect pitched voice really touches deep down. Really makes you stop and breathe and think.”
7. Good in Goodbye
“This song is absolutely phenomenal. The lyrics and message is quite simple, but it gets the point across very quickly and strongly…”guess goodbye made us strong, sometimes life leads you down a different road, someday you’ll see the reason why”…. absolutely can be related to almost anyone. It sounds more like a sad ballad, but it actually turns out to be one of the most empowering songs on the album.”
6. Wine After Whiskey
“Easily the most classic country song on the album. Truly bittersweet. The song really showcases Underwood’s powerful yet controlled voice. Once again not my favorite, but its sure pretty dang good. Very easy to listen to and she really feels connected to the song.”

5. Cupid’s Got a Shotgun
“Ironically enough this is the closest thing to a love song on this album for Mrs. Underwood. The song is a purely enjoyable and full of sass. So needed for the album. This is the only other song that is really upbeat next to “Good Girl”. So much fun. The lyrics are thought out very well. The song makes you wanna get up and dance and just have fun.”
4. See You Again
“Carrie’s vocals on this are so sweet and comforting. The lyrics contain a beautiful message and the song really holds a lot of hope and necessary uplifting vibes which are needed after songs like “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs”. The people singing in the back make the song so much more touching and somehow meaningful.I can definitely see this fitting this into The Chronicles of Narnia film but I am happier that it landed on the album.”
3. Two Black Cadillacs
“This song is pure genius musically, lyrically, emotionally, just everything. It’s so perfect. I can’t even critique it. Easy review. It’s gonna be a hit and I really hope it’ll be a single.”
2. Good Girl
“The lead single of the album is an absolute perfect opening. Fun, sassy, and full of attitude, Carrie warns us to think before we assume everything is good. The song is a great crossover piece which really broadens her horizons and fan base. A country/pop/rock song that is destined for gold despite already being high among the charts and the stars. Great great way to start the album.”
1. Blown Away
“One of my favorite songs on the album. The lyrical direction is really interesting and covers such a different side of Carrie’s story telling. The song is a great piece of work. It really shows that Carrie was serious when saying this album would be darker. Truly one of the most enjoyable tracks on the album. Very easy to listen to and fun to create a little music video in your head.”
