7. Your Story

“The first generation of kpop was in decline with the demise of girl bands and boy bands at the time. It was not unique to South Korea but also to all parts of the globe. The company NegaNetwork looked for JeA who at the time was a member of a Korean drama soundtrack group. At the time, where the dramas boomed, in mid-2002, they began to be exported. They suggested that JeA coordinate the creation of a girl band for the company to manage.”

6. Special Moments

“Such a masterpiece! All the best songs (I don’t think they have a bad one!) in one set! The songs are awesome and the photo book is beautiful! I’m so glad to own this now! It’s just amazing!”

5. Sound-G

“What I really liked from BEG at the beginning was their addictive song Abracadabra and the especially addictive hip dance choregraphy they used in their MV… It was one of the most famous dance of 2009… After listening to Abracadabra 100 times, I decided to give a try to the whole album… I can’t say it’s as addictive as this song, overall it’s rather messy, with its share of ballads mixed to r&b mixed with some pop/dance but at the end there are some good songs.”

4. Sixth Sense

“This is an excellent Korean pop album. I’m a fan of the genre in general with my favorites being Brown Eyed Girls, 2NE1, and Girls Generation, but vocally BEG are definitely the best of the bunch in my opinion. Their solo stuff is good too; especially Narsha’s epononymous album and Step 2/4 by Gain. As for this disc, it’s short, but strong. The title track and “Hot Shot” are the best tracks. In general it’s good upbeat, driving music with some good hooks and melodies. They have a more “edgy” sound than most of the other K-Pop acts, which makes them pretty appealing.”

3. Black Box

“Black Box is the Brown Eyed Girls 5th album and I like what I hear.Of course Kill Bill is the star track here, but there are some good dance grooves in After Club,Satisfaction,Recipe and Track 7(sorry it’s in Korean!).The girls have even made a nice slow number with a lot of soul, with Good Fellas. The BEG’s producer has really made a CD with lots and lots of headroom,so the sound is going to impress.”

2. Basic

“A mesmerising album by BEG. It’s beautifully packaged, comes with all 4 photos of the members. On Basic, the ladies of BEG deliver an accessible, catchy, record that doesn’t so much as grab your attention but seep into your mind. Great songs, it’s my favorite Kpop album so far!!!
