Carly Rae Jepsen Songs Ranked
Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 21, 1985) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress. Born and raised in Mission, British Columbia, Jepsen performed several lead roles in her high school’s musical productions and pursued musical theatre at the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC. After completing her studies, she relocated to Vancouver and later competed on the fifth season of Canadian Idol in 2007, placing third. In 2008, Jepsen released her folk-influenced debut studio album, Tug of War, in Canada. Jepsen’s breakthrough came in 2012, when her single “Call Me Maybe” achieved significant mainstream popularity; the song was the best-selling single of that year, reaching number one in 18 countries. As a result, she was signed to a joint worldwide record deal with School Boy Records and Interscope Records. Jepsen’s second studio album, Kiss, was released later that year. It marked a greater shift into mainstream pop music and saw fair commercial success, reaching the top ten in Canada and the United States. In 2014, Jepsen made her Broadway stage debut as the titular character in Cinderella. The following year, she released her third studio album, Emotion. It is noted for its influence from 1980s music as well as blending dance-pop and synth-pop with indie sensibilities. While less commercially successful than Kiss, it saw the success of its lead single, “I Really Like You”, and received critical acclaim. In 2016 Jepsen performed in the television special Grease: Live and lent her voice to the animated film Ballerina. Her fourth studio album, Dedicated, was released on May 17, 2019, along with a follow-up titled Dedicated Side B was distributed a year later. Here are all of Carly Rae Jepsen’s songs ranked.

15. I Didn’t Just Come Here to Dance (Emotion 2015)
“This is the album that broke my denial about pop music. I was one of those insufferable blogger folks that thought they were above pop, and pretended to like a lot of mediocre guitar music to seem sophisticated. And to be fair, a lot of mainstream pop was really vapid.”
14. Favourite Colour (Emotion 2015)
“You either get this album or you don’t. The production is incredible. Carly could bring peace to the middle east if we let her. Buy this album if you’re not secure enough with yourself to go to a CRJ show, but still need a way to financially support her.”
13. More Than a Memory (Kiss 2012)
“This song is by far my favorite from Carly Rae Jepsen. It is very catchy and I can relate to the situation presented in the song.”
12. Curiosity (Kiss 2012)
“The lyrics are perfect, the instrumental blends with the vocals excellently, and Carly’s voice fits it so well. It’s a shame that they had to remix it so much for the ‘Kiss’ album; this one sounds so much clearer.”

11. Tiny Little Bows (Kiss, 2012)
“This song makes me feel like I’m really in another space, wow !! And the good vibes coming from it, it’s just so good! I remember the time when I was so heartbroken. I’d listen to this song many times. It would make me smile..”
10. Your Type (Emotion 2015)
“The album “Emotion” is chockfull of gems and this is one of them. Jepsen really knows how to sing – able to interpret lyrics with rich vocal inflections that are not overshadowed by the very catchy beat of the instrumentation. Basically, the lyrics are somewhat sad, but, the record is still upbeat because Jepsen’s vocals are sharp and hopeful. Really nice job here.”
9. Tonight I’m Getting Over You (Kiss, 2012)
“This song describes exactly how Carly can’t get over her crush of someone… Best song ever because of how first its more or less sad (sort of) but then it gets exciting at the chorus…”
8. This Kiss (Kiss, 2012)
“I love this song not only because of the upbeat and catchy rhythm but because of the lyrics. It is relatable and realistic in this day and age. “This Kiss” reminds me of a person during a time in my life. Every time I hear the song, it takes me to a place of independence, and contentment.”
7. Sweetie (Kiss, 2012)
“This song is great to hear when you’re in love and all around a great pop piece! I’m surprised it’s not more popular! Much better than the Call Me Maybe song, in my opinion!”
6. All That (Emotion, 2015)
“Pretty good, maybe not as good as the last single. All in all though, this is probably the most I’ve been excited for a pop album. Still one of the finest slow jam pop ballads of this decade.”

5. Emotion (Emotion, 2015)
“Jepsen is out for blood on this one. Someone else here mentioned “twee-heeing” and “coyness,” and I can’t help but think we’re hearing a different song. This isn’t about trying to retrieve a lover who’s strayed via girlish allure. There’s no chance of reconciliation here, our desire for it. She’s transferred whatever feelings she had for her ex into a core of awesome bitterness, and she wants this poor fellow tormented for his mistakes. The song is a finishing move: vicious, and the furthest thing from coy. Great stuff.”
4. I Really Like You (Emotion, 2015)
“The chorus was stuck in my head for days at a time. In fact, the song itself is just ear candy that I can’t put down. Maybe it is because I’ve been in more of a pop mood lately and Carly Rae Jepsen just happens to be the artist that put out one of those infectious pop singles. I’m strongly considering listening to her album now**…”
3. Good Time (Kiss, 2012)
“This song is just about having a good time. To me its telling people to get out there and have fun and be heard and do something amazing. It’s a great duet.”
2. Run Away With Me (Emotion, 2015)
“The instrumentals on this work so well. The synths on the verses sound so warm and perfectly fit with the verses. The chorus is bombastic, but it deserves it entirely. It’s a universal declaration of running away with someone. Of romance. Of passion. Of an undying love. The bridge is one of the most magical 20 seconds of music I’ve ever listened to. It makes me feel like I’m floating in space, then when the chorus comes back, I’m flying back to earth. Just pure magic in musical form.”
1. Call Me Maybe (Kiss, 2012)
“Hands down her best song. I love it. I got lucky and saw her live on Hedley’s hello world tour and literally everyone sang along to this one with her. My favorite song of all time. Her and Hedley are awesome.”
