12. Tush – ZZ Top

“I was blown away by the simple power of the song. Often they would play Tush as one of the oncore songs in their live sets. What an amazing set of songs they have left us.”

11. Stranglehold – Ted Nugent

“One of the best, if not the best, rock songs in history. Nugent makes the guitar sound alive. It seethes, and broods, and builds until it punches you right in the freaking mouth!”

10. No More Mr. Nice Guy – Alice Cooper

“Alice Cooper was the best at expressing teen angst during the sixties. It is a little superficial, but, actually, teens had it pretty good during the sixties.”

9. Cherry Bomb – The Runaways

“They were just a bunch of girls(they literally were in their mid teens)who loved rock music and decided to put together a band. And they put up with a lot of crap to live that dream. It takes a lot of courage to live your dream when every tells you not to.”

8. Rock & Roll All Nite – Kiss

“If we had to sum up the entire era of rock music in one song, this would be it. The anthem of rock. One of the few songs I can play the solo to. Not my very favorite song, but definitely sums up rock and roll”

7. Tuesday’s Gone – Lynyrd Skynyrd

“The end of the party. The keg is dry and it’s time to go. I was there in the 90s, people I knew lived it back in the 70s and 60s and kids today will still live it. That’s what makes this movie timeless. Skynard is playing and life keeps livin’ man.”

6. Highway Star – Deep Purple

“1967 to 1974 had some of the best and I think most long-lasting rock. A great era of song writing and influences from many sounds blended in unique and amazing ways.”

5. Paranoid – Black Sabbath

“What a powerful song!Already with 10 years I hated that boring mainstream music but I have loved wild rock anthems! My parents could not forbid me because I was very good in school. So they left me and my freedom!”

4. Slow Ride – Foghat

“Amazing movie, would of been great growing up in that era! Although 90’s had it’s perks as apposed to this era with everyone staring at their devises…One of the best films ever made, just love it.”

3. Why Can’t We Be Friends – War

“The best thing about this movie for me is how some guys do bad things, like Don saying that degrading stuff, but later in the film he throws the beer to that kid. It’s exactly like real life.. there’s no straight line between good and bad characters, people are a mix.”

2. Sweet Emotion – Aerosmith

“I feel like a song being used in a movie, or in a commercial, or even a music video can somehow do a sort of weird damage to how you perceive the song. My first times listening to Sweet Emotion were being really high with headphones and my eyes closed”

1. School’s Out – Alice Cooper

“My Dad especially loves this scene, because he told me when he graduated in ‘75, this exactly happened with everyone tossing their books, papers, etc, but the dudes who were into Hot Rods/Muscle Cars and draggin, started to race on the quarter mile strip of pavement right by the schools trac”
