Dido Albums Ranked
Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O’Malley Armstrong (born 25 December 1971), known professionally as Dido, is an English singer and songwriter. She attained international success with her debut album No Angel (1999). Hit singles from the album include “Here with Me” and “Thank You”. It sold over 21 million copies worldwide, and won her several awards, including two Brit Awards: Best British Female and Best British Album, and the MTV Europe Music Award for Best New Act. The first verse of “Thank You” is sampled in “Stan”, a collaboration with American rapper Eminem. Her next album, Life for Rent (2003), continued her success with the hit singles “White Flag” and “Life for Rent”. In 2004, Dido performed with other British and Irish artists in the Band Aid 20 version of the charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”. Dido made a comeback in 2013, releasing her fourth studio album Girl Who Got Away, which reached the top 5 in the UK. Having taken time out of the music industry to raise her son, she reappeared on stage at the 2013 Reading and Leeds festival where she reunited with Eminem. Dido released her fifth studio album, Still on My Mind, on 8 March 2019 and embarked on her first tour in 15 years in support of the new album. In May 2019, Dido received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors. Here are all of Dido albums ranked.

7. Live At Brixton Academy
“A performance of Dido in Brixton. She plays a good mix of both of her albums, all the classics of course ar there. She has quite a band, that sometimes use exotic instruments giving the songs a different feel. Anyway the fact that the songs are played using drums and guitars makes it a bit different from the electronics on the album. Dido’s voice is very good, also live without backup, like in the encore “All you want” where she is all alone on stage singing and playing keyboards.”
6. The Last Summer
“Great album from this faithless trio. A holiday theme, recorded pre-COVID, that sounds like postcard from another world. Actually better than the proper Faithless album released in 2020.”
5. Girl Who Got Away
“The opening track “No Freedom” is one of the best tracks, joined by “Blackbird” and “Loveless Hearts.” The title track is all right as well, while “End of Night”, “Go Dreaming” and possibly “Love to Blame” aren’t really worse. “Let Us Move On” is fine otherwise but the unfortunately obligatory guest rapping of Kendrick Lamar doesn’t fit the mood of the song (and of the album) at all. “Day Before We Went to War”, co-produced by Brian Eno, sounds nice but not sharp enough. Though none of the songs is bad, a couple of songs are slightly lame and this makes it evident that Girl Who Got Away still isn’t an album to really fancy.”

4. Still On My Mind
“This has to be my favorite Dido album, and one of my favorite albums of all. The bonus disc is also simply divine although I’m not a fan of the last two tracks – they’re totally out of character so I leave them off my playlists. Dido clearly cares about sound quality: this album is superbly produced and her voice is the best it’s ever been in my humble opinion.”
3. Safe Trip Home
“I think I can listen to this album all day, it’s so meaningful to me. I love the fact that she has taken a different direction with “Safe Trip Home”, it’s less electronic. It doesn’t matter actually, I love all of her albums, but I do get a new vibe from this last one. The songs are mostly sad, but I do sense that the album offers a peaceful mood as well. It’s a very beautiful album! One of my favorites of 2008.”
2. Life For Rent
“Dido’s voice is so beautiful, angelic and unique. She has more talent than most of those bland, slutty female artists out there like Britney Spears and Fergie. Her voice just gets you every time and one never gets sick of the beauty and lyrics of her masterpiece “White Flag,” which sadly, in Canada was played on the radio but not to the extent that was deserving of such a wonderful and meaningful song. The other songs on the album are great too, perhaps with the exception of “Who Makes You Feel” and “Do You Have A Little Time,” which are only “decent” songs, but this is just a minor glitch. Dido you rock and I hope the third album is just as good as this one, but you have (un)fortunately set the bar extremely high with this album.”
1. No Angel
“This is one of the pop albums that has stood it’s test of times. Heartbreak is something that could describe the whole album. But with the heartbreak comes so mellow and sweet sounds and rhythms, and Dido’s very soft voice adds to the whole comfort. Apart from the lyrics also the composition works and melodies are all rather personally done. And at the same time it’s mellow, melancholic and also sad, the album has some real moments of strength and being strong too. Smooth Jazz is also something that springs to my mind apart from the dominating pop/trip hop.”
