Divers unveil haunting new single ‘The Hunt’ ahead of Shapeshifting EP

Gothenburg six-piece Divers return with ‘The Hunt’, a brooding, slow-burning opener taken from their upcoming EP Shapeshifting, due May 22 via Little Low Recordings.

The track leans into tension and atmosphere, pairing shadowy instrumentation with a commanding vocal from Lina Horner that cuts through with eerie precision. There’s a subtle nod to The Doors in its early exchanges, before the song expands into something far more expansive and cinematic.

Lyrically, ‘The Hunt’ reflects on the modern obsession of the endless pursuit of status, questioning what’s sacrificed in the process. It’s a theme that feeds into the wider EP, which explores transformation and the shifting nature of identity.

Recorded at Berlin’s iconic Hansa Studios, once home to landmark sessions from David Bowie and Depeche Mode, the project captures a band tapping into something deeper and more focused.
