Emmure Songs Ranked
Emmure is an American metalcore band formed in 2003. Originally based in New Fairfield, Connecticut, before moving to Queens, New York, the group has released eight albums, with their first public release being a 2006 EP entitled The Complete Guide to Needlework. Victory Records has worked with the band throughout most of their career, starting with Goodbye to the Gallows (2007). Their second, third, and fourth albums The Respect Issue (2008), Felony (2009), and Speaker of the Dead (2011) were all distributed through Victory as well. After the band’s initial four-album contract with Victory expired, they signed again with Victory to distribute their fifth and sixth studio albums, Slave to the Game (2012) and Eternal Enemies (2014). However, after nine years of being signed to the label, Emmure would leave Victory in 2016 to sign with SharpTone. The seventh and eighth Emmure albums, titled Look at Yourself and Hindsight were released on March 3, 2017, and June 26, 2020, respectively. The band’s vocalist, Frankie Palmeri (born 1986), is the only remaining original member and has been subject to some controversy over the years. His personality has made the band unique from other acts in the genre, and critics have described his “no-fucks-given” attitude as an entertaining standpoint for the band. Here are all of Emmure’s songs ranked.

10. Ice Man Confessions (Look at Yourself, 2017)
“The song is dark and has a little Korn/Deftones vibe during the verses. This is basically the sound Suicide Silence were going for on their last album but instead of it falling flat on its face and becoming a meme, Emmure did a really good job of mixing dark melody with nu metal and deathcore, so I just wanted to give them recognition for that.
9. I Thought You Met Telly and Turned Me Into Casper (Felony, 2009)
“The Girl cheated, and had sex with another dude and the boyfriend didn’t realize it, and he freaks out becasue she told him after they had sex, found out that she caught something from the guy she cheated on him with, and he’s really emotionally damaged, and he’s afraid he caught somethingfrom her.”
8. When Everything Goes Wrong, Take the Easy Way Out (Goodbye to the Gallows, 2007)
“Well this song you have to listen to the rest of the Goodbye to the Gallows cd to get. The song is part of a concept album and is the ending to its story. The song is basically saying that everything that has happened to him in his past few months is over and everything has gone so sour that he is asking God to prepare heaven for him. In the end of the song you hear the sound a of a train which kind of suggests he drives hsi car, truck, or whatever onto a set of train tracks to commit suicide.”
7. Turtle in a Hare Machine (Look at Yourself, 2017)
“That one riff Josh hits about every fourth stanza is soooo groove metal. The song composition of this rivals classical orchestra music that involves dozens of different instruments.”

6. Shinjuku Masterlord (Look at Yourself, 2017)
“This is TRUE Rap Metal, Emmure has went over the limit and released one of their best albums ever. No other album they ever will release in the future will ever amount to this masterpiece.”
5. Smokey (Look at Yourself, 2017)
“Frankie really is the realest frontman there is. He isn’t trying to look evil or be overly edgy. He obviously loves expressing his music for himself and no one else and it shows. That’s why these musicians gravitated to him, that’s why people either love the band or hate it. Because he’s doing what he wants.”
4. I Am Onslaught (Slave to the Game, 2012)
“I think this is easily their best album. Whatever you liked about Emmure before is still present and just got better. It’s filled with typical breakdowns and heavy riffs to headbang to, and has got some really catchy parts.”

3. MDMA (Slave to the Game, 2012)
“I love the passion and emotion in this song. I love the perfect combination between the screaming and what I guess you could call yelling, but the thing that lets this song down for me is his screams are way too croaky. I reckon if Franky’s screams were more smooth with a bit better pronunciation then this song would be heaps better “
2. Protoman (Slave to the Game, 2012)
“This is one of the best music videos I’ve ever seen. The shot sequences, the exposure, the cystal clear colors, special effects, the band members’ intensity, etc. Everything is perfect.
1. Solar Flare Homicide (Speaker of the Dead, 2011)
“This song is about the outcome of solar winds hitting the earth and destroying the entire world’s electronics. Imagine a world of total darkness, zero communication and complete anarchy… and how much you could get away with in it. Well, in this case, I’m talking about getting even with old foes since there’s no order or law.”
