10. DM (Midnight Guest, 2022)

“I really wanted to like this song but so far nothing. It wasn’t exactly boring…It has all the necessary elements but felt a bit lifeless to me. I know they have good vocals but compared to some of the other gg cbs this month that caught me on first listen or atleast intrigued me enough to take a closer look, this doesn’t quite do it for me. Hopefully the stages would give me a different perspective!”

9. Talk & Talk (Talk & Talk, 2021)

“Its a solid pop song. Of all the retro sounds going on, this one does something slightly different – the bass – percussion – short synth style line in the verses are very 80’s, “Let’s Hear it for the Boy” style. Too bad they don’t carry that sound through more of the song, but still, its a solid pop song.”

8. Airplane Mode (9 Way Ticket, 2021)

“What really sealed the deal with me from when I first listened was the bridge, where at 2:05 the synth just kicks into high gear and for 20 seconds the bridge just bangs. The whole section just reminded me of travelling in the car with music blasting in my ears with the cold air of the car air conditioner. The melody is exquisite and “over and over” still pops up in my head every now and then.”

7. We Go (9 Way Ticket, 2021)

“I love this so much! Feel Good was one of my favorite songs last year and I’m glad they came back with the same sound. I hear the California Gurls instrumental in the chorus too!”

6. Feel Good (Special Code) (My Little Society, 2020)

“This is twice now – following ‘Love Bomb’ – that Fromis has deployed some pretty killer harmonies in the chorus. It’s not something I’d really expect from the group, but… it works! Not that their instrumentals sound particularly cheap (the opposite, actually), but the layering makes everything sound a little richer.”

5. Fun! (Fun Factory, 2019)

“This song is definitely a bit too chaotic for me. I was taken back to the bouncy quirkiness of Lovelyz’s WoW! when the instrumental began, but that similarity quickly ended once the chorus kicked in. While WoW!’s melodic chorus blended seamlessly with its cuter and quirkier verses, FUN! just feels kind of disjointed throughout. I quite like the pre-chorus by itself, though, so I just wish that aspect meshed better with the song as a whole.”

4. Love Bomb (From.9, 2018)

“That’s not a trap-style high-hat though… it sounds like a TR808 that someone smashed into a refrigerator – and that’s definitely a compliment. The song starts off only vaguely interesting with the odd glitchy keyboard sounds, but then really ramps it up during the prechorus, where the melody starts to become coherent and the background vocals come in.”

3. DKDK (DKDK, 2018)

“I love how their songs and concepts stay young and refreshing but it still changed from really cute to more teencrush like, I just came from their comeback “we go” and I really couldn’t deside between their older concepts and the current”

2. To Heart (To Heart, 2018)

“This is such a good debut song. I’m so proud of them, they truly started from the bottom on Idol School. After that they slayed on the big stage of MAMA and here they are with this amazing debut song .”

1. Glass Shoes (To. Heart, 2018)

“This song is absolutely incredible! I am so sad that they didn’t get as much recognition as all the other girl groups from survival shows like Twice, IOI, Iz*one, etc when they first started out. Their way their songs are written is so genius, the melodies seem to all be designed to instantly brighten your mood and put you in a better state of mind”
