Gag Salon unleash manic new single ‘Backing Track’ ahead of debut album ‘You Have Been Killed’

London’s eccentric art-rock four-piece Gag Salon are back in typically chaotic fashion with ‘Backing Track’, the first glimpse of their long-awaited debut album ‘You Have Been Killed’, set to land on August 19th.

True to form, ‘Backing Track’ is a frenzied slice of angular pop: part deranged theatre, part jagged dancefloor freakout. With sharp left-turns between infectious hooks and dissonant breakdowns, the single matches its unpredictability with a neurotic lyrical wit that could only come from Gag Salon.

Produced by longtime collaborator Chris McCrory (Conscious Pilot, Walt Disco) at Glasgow’s Green Door Studio during a particularly bleak January, the album promises more off-kilter anthems and dystopian party tunes. To celebrate the release, the band will hit the road this September, with headline dates including London’s Shacklewell Arms, and stops in Southampton, Oxford, and Bristol.
