GIRLBAND! fire up a storm with fierce new single ‘Thelma & Louise’
Nottingham’s GIRLBAND! return with fists raised and amps roaring on ‘Thelma & Louise’, their most explosive release to date. Built around a snarling riff from frontwoman Georgie and charged with the energy of pure defiance, the track is a full-throttle ode to freedom, ride-or-die friendships, and choosing your own damn path.
Written during a spontaneous rewatch of the iconic road movie, the song bottles that same reckless liberation. “It’s about escape,” Georgie explains. “About running with people who get you. That’s the core of GIRLBAND! — choosing freedom, together.”
Fresh from a second Glastonbury slot and sharing stages with punk royalty like the Sex Pistols, GIRLBAND! are now tearing through new territory. The release coincides with an exclusive collaboration with Nottingham-based gaming giant Avakin Life, where the band will perform as avatars at the in-game Solar Live Festival, complete with digital stage, custom merch, photo booth, and hangout zones.
