Gooseberry channel distance and dislocation on new single ‘Fault Lines’
Brooklyn trio Gooseberry have returned with ‘Fault Lines’, a powerful new release that finds the band leaning into a heavier and more aggressive side of their sound.
Known for blending alternative rock, indie influences and blues-driven songwriting, the group take inspiration from 90s grunge on the new track, with echoes of bands such as Soundgarden running through its weighty guitars and tense atmosphere.
Lyrically, ‘Fault Lines’ explores the emotional fallout of leaving behind a familiar life and attempting to settle somewhere entirely different. Written from the perspective of someone watching their old world continue without them, the song captures the strange mix of homesickness, envy and isolation that can come with relocation and distance.
With ‘Fault Lines’, Gooseberry deliver one of their most intense and emotionally direct releases to date.
