20. Fast Road (Once Bitten, 1987)
“I pick this single version to review because I can’t stand the edited single version that came out later. This album version is pure magic. It starts with a slow burn. Building and building with this driving bass line. The vocals kick in with a soft, wanting vocals.”
19. Back to the Rhythm (Back to the Rhythm, 2007)
“The singing and the guitar playing is phenomenal and they can sound as good as any of the best Rock’n’Roll greats from Led Zep to Aerosmith if they chose to. Jack Russell’s vocals are such that he can adapt to any kind of the R&B songs. They are best when they play the blues.”
18. Unchained (Recover, 2002)
“Great White pay homage to their hard rockin’ blues-based roots with the release of Recover. As the Los Angeles based band proved with past covers, such as their fourteen track tribute to the almighty Led Zeppelin, the boys can rework a song with confidence and authority. As usual, Jack Russell’s vocals, and Mark Kendall’s axe work prove to be the soul of Great White.”
17. Gone to the Dogs (Can’t Get There from Here, 1999)
“Great White managed to put together a solid effort with this disc. At a time when alternative metal dominated hard rock, it was refreshing to hear a veteran act not trying to keep up with the current crop. Soulful, bluesy hard rock done right, as Great White was known for.”

16. Situation (Rising, 2009)
” The 2009 release of Rising is dominated by melodic rock tracks, each of which clock-in at over four-minutes in duration. Russell’s raw vocals remain perfectly suited for Great White’s blooze-rock, while Kendall is the star of the show”
15. Rollin’ Stoned (Can’t Get There from Here, 1999)
“Great White adhered to their tried and true formula of writing ’70’s influenced songs for the Can’t Get There From Here disc. “Rollin’ Stoned”, penned by Jack Russell, Michael Lardie and Jack Blades, is a classic example of the approach Great White utilized throughout their recording career. This track grooves behind a tasty lick from Mark Kendall, and Jack Russell’s hearty vocals.”
14. House of Broken Love (…Twice Shy, 1989)
“House of Broken Love”, which was recorded for Great White’s 1989 Twice Shy disc, is a slow grooving blues-based song showcasing the talents of guitarist Mark Kendall and singer Jack Russell. Along with the arena shakin’ “Rock Me”, the down and out “House of Broken Love” is a signature cut from the Great White catalog.”
13. Hiway Nights (…Twice Shy, 1989)
“It’s really been a while since listening to this but it’s not nearly as bad as I remembered… The songs are actually pretty good bluesy hard rock, and Once Bitten Twice Shy IS a kind of classic track. …Twice Shy is one of the better hard rock albums from its time.”
12. Give It Up (Full Circle, 2017)
“A pretty weak album by one of my favorite bands. It seems uninspired and reminds me of 80’s hair metal bands. You can find a bit of Reo Speedwagon, Mr. Big, Warrant and early The Who, and some watered down Led Zepp. The vocals are a bit flat overall as if he is trying too hard. The album however gets better towards the latter half, when they start playing the blues-rock which they specialize in.”
11. Step on You (Psycho City, 1992)
“The flow of the music makes you want to get up and dance! If you don’t like this band what do you like? This band is one of the best I know!”
10. Save Your Love (Once Bitten, 1987)
“The 1987 disc closes with the ballad “Save Your Love”. Throughout the recording, guitarist Mark Kendall shines with his inspired fretboard work, while front man Jack Russell accents the tracks with his raspy vocals.”
9. Psycho City (Psycho City, 1992)
“This was Great White’s last great effort. Though it takes a back seat to Once Bitten, Twice Shy and Hooked, it still has that classic blues/rock sound. Russell’s vocals are still top notch and Kendall, Lardie and Desbrow bring the rock as always. This is a highly under rated album that deserves your attention.”
8. Street Killer (Great White, 1984)
“Pretty good album. Before they went all poppy and glam. Some of the songs start to sound the same towards the middle of the album but other than that, a great album. Nice vocals too.”
7. Stick It (Great White, 1984)
“The signature track from the set is “Stick It”, which received limited national radio exposure upon release of the Great White album. This song is my absolute favorite song. I can’t believe how truthful and raw it is.”

6. Substitute (Great White, 1984)
“I love the guitar work on this one!I remember seeing the music video for, what a guitarist! Great White is the kind of band that has various sounds as they became older, but this is the cd by them that rocks.
5. Lady Red Light (Once Bitten, 1987)
“The album gets off to a flying start with a chugging and aggressive tribute to a lady of the night, “Lady Red Light” And this song is something you don’t get tired of listening to. In my opinion and experience, I could listen to to this song forever.”
4. All Over Now (Sail Away, 1994)
“This song not only has a great tune and lyrics but the song is something everyone can relate to. Very good song, probably the best one they have ever made “
3. Mista Bone (…Twice Shy, 1989)
“The bluesy riffs come out on this rock song. Great lyrics, great music, and everything that I’ve been looking in a song.. I’m in love with this band and this song.. They’re amazing..”
2. Rock Me (Once Bitten, 1987)
“One of the first songs I heard by great white always be my favourite also face the day a good killer track,i love the drums on this one me and my friends doing some air drumming good days 10 out of 10 for me”
1. Face the Day (Shot in the Dark, 1986)
“Musically this is identical to the original version, and it is the vocal performance that provides the contrast. Jack Russell gives it a fair shake here, but for me Neeson can’t be beat. The problem with this song though is that you can’t stop listening to it! It’s the most catchiest song I’ve ever listened to and also my favorite!”
