9. Love Shine Down
“Eric Church is one of the mainstream country artists that publications assure you is OK to Like, and I don’t really hear it. (I hear it more with him than I do with Sam Hunt, but nevertheless.) It’s soulful enough, if a bit oversung, but it all feels a little too polished and neat.”
8. Crazyland
“We have come a long way since Chief. Through the first three albums, Eric Church was a fairly decent country star with some clear rock influences of the southern variety.”
7. Stick That in Your Country Song
“I have enjoyed listening to Eric Church since his debut but really became a fan with his song Springsteen. Seeing him in concert made me even more of a fan as he puts on a great show. He is not a traditional country music singer like Haggard or Jones, his country music rocks heavier in more of an outlaw way. I have always thought of him as Springsteen type country. “

6. Russian Roulette
“Well written and thoughtful country songs performed in a country way that rocks. I look forward to his new albums and I have enjoyed the singles released in advance of this album.”
5. Heart on Fire
” It doesn’t feel nearly as organic as it should, and it add a stiffness to the texture, especially to the percussion and any synth integration that seems to deflect from the impact or sweep these songs could have – at best you get the break into acoustics after the solo on ‘Heart On Fire’”
4. Heart of the Night
“Say what you will about the production issues all over that last album from The Killers when they tried heartland rock, at least they and The War On Drugs by extension knew how to create that organic swell without feeling as mechanical like how ‘Heart of the Night’ never erupts properly.”

3. People Break
“I have listened to it over and over since it arrived and my favourite keeps changing. Perhaps not as great as Mr Misunderstood or Chief but almost and this might well become as good with repeated listens.”
2. Never Break Heart
“Eric Church is back and that’s always good news! Influences abound on this nine-song set, Queen and Meat Loaf have been joking pointed out by Church in several interviews. “
1. Bunch of Nothing
“The songs are phenomenal and original!! I love his work and his singing. He’s so unique and I love that he does it “his” way!! Reminds me of the one and only Johnny Cash!! Keep it up Chief!!”
